CHARLOTTE, N.C. — FOX Sports celebrated the 247th birthday of the United States Army on June 14 by teaming with local nonprofit partner Purple Heart Homes to complete home renovations for a World War II U.S. Army veteran in its local Charlotte community.
Funding from FOX Sports helped Purple Heart Homes complete construction of an ADA-compliant bathroom and roof replacement for Corporal Robert Cochrane (95) whose home was in need of significant structural repair due to water damage stemming from plumbing issues. Volunteers applied the finishing touches to the project, constructing a new set of patio stairs and waist-high garden boxes for Cochrane to resume his lifelong gardening hobby.
