Sergeant William Drake of Nibley, UT served in the US Army as part of a tank crew from 2002 to 2008. William was a part of the initial push into Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and completed a second tour in Operation Enduring Freedom. William suffers from severe PTSD from his time in service and has mobility problems because of back and ankle issues.
William’s carpeted floors were in bad shape and desperately needed to be replaced. He said he didn’t want to be in his own home. Searching for help, William contacted Purple Heart Homes, and we were able to provide William and his family with new flooring.
He said the new floors “made our house so much more inviting and welcoming. The house is such a calming environment now. Having a home that you want to be in because of such amazing flooring is pretty awesome.” William went on to say, “I honestly was shocked that we were selected. Wow. I was kind of stunned.”
Purple Heart Homes is excited to have been able to help create a welcoming and relaxing home for William and his family!
