Purple Heart Homes Collaborates with MiTek & Habitat for Humanity in Texas

In early March of 2019, Purple Heart Homes was able to provide a Service Connected Disabled Veteran a new garage for their home in Garland, Texas, with assistance from MiTek USA and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Garland. All of the trusses were donated by Builders FirstSource, and were pre-cut and marked for assembly with MiTek connection plates. Volunteers from the local Habitat for Humanity contributed their skills to help assemble the garage.

This collaboration serves as a prime example of how organizations working together can create a quick and stream-lined process for providing housing solutions for our Service Connected Disabled and Aging Veterans. Purple Heart Homes plans to continue collaborating with organizations such as MiTek in the future, and already has plans for more partner projects with Habitat for Humanity.

If your organization would like to collaborate with Purple Heart Homes in an effort to assist Service Connected Disabled and Aging Veterans local to your community, please reach out to Rob Harrell at rharrell@phhusa.org or (704) 818-3429.
