On Monday evening a ceremony was held before the Wellsville Village Board meeting. At the Municipal Building, a flag honoring Air Force Veteran James Franklin Jr was lowered and Jaime White, President of the Southwestern New York Chapter of Purple Heart Homes, raised a flag to honor all Veterans.

There were a lot of winners at the first ever Veterans Day 5K in Wellsville. The biggest winners were the Southwestern New York Chapter of Purple Heart Homes and LEEK Hunting and Mountain Perserve, the organizations that will receive the money raised from the run.
