Meet Harold Bell

Harold Bell was drafted into the Army in 1966 during Vietnam. He had his basic training at Fort Campbell, KT and then his specialized training in motor transport operations was completed at Fort Huachuca, AZ.

Harold was stationed at a Missile Base in San Rafael and was in D Battery as a Battery Courier; running parts from the Missle Base to The Presidio, a former U.S. Army fort. He was also a Battery Armoror who disassembled, cleaned, and re-assembled weapons and studied how each functioned.

As a result of his service, Harold has heart and hearing issues and has experienced strokes. Thanks to the collaborative work of The Home Depot Foundation and Habitat for Humanity, Purple Heart Homes was able to assist Harold and his wife, Sandy, by replacing their windows.

We thank you for your service and are proud to be able to make your home more comfortable.
