The Opportunity:

Purple Heart Homes is looking for a Quality Control Manager in Statesville, NC (on-site).

The Quality Control Manager Inspects all aspects of manufactured units for conformance to requirements and is also responsible for reporting non-compliances in engineering drawings, specifications, and other product requirements. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented with a passion for motivating and leading others. In addition to strong leadership and decision- making skills, the ideal candidate will possess the ability to:

  • Identify alternative solutions to a problem and implement a solution

  • Analyze and evaluate resources to efficiently solve problems
  • Be dependable and accountable
  • Treat others fairly and see others’ points of view

The ideal candidate will be reliable and understand what is necessary to accomplish the work. A proven record of delivering on complex projects and a passion for helping others are needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Inspect products/brands/serial numbers of materials to be ordered ensuring they match engineering plans.
  • Inspect same materials upon receipt to ensure they are the correct type ordered.
  • Inspect all areas of manufactured units to ensure they are built to match engineering plans. Determine corrections that need to be made and communicate those to the build team.
  • Maintain and control the manufactured unit’s “traveler” document, making sure all items are inspected and any non-compliances are documented and corrected.
  • Adherence to all requirements of the Employee Handbook regarding workplace safety, behavior, and expectations of an individual.
  • All other duties assigned by higher management.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience in a construction trade.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
  • Basic working knowledge of plumbing and electrical in a residential build.
  • Dependable and reliable.
  • Must have great attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, write, and possess basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in extreme cold or heat.
  • Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures. Ability to speak knowledgeably about and recognize different types of building materials.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Project Manager will oversee the entirety of projects, build strong relationships in the community and with vendors, and support the team at Purple Heart Homes. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented with a passion for motivating and leading others. In addition to strong leadership and decision-making skills, the ideal candidate will possess the ability to:

Qualifications:

  • Experience leading complex projects
  • Effective and caring communication with our Disabled Veterans, their family, spouse, or caregiver with patience and openness
  • Degree in engineering, construction, or relevant field experience preferred
